We have converted our old iMac lab into an esports space welcoming to all who want to come in and play. Anyone is welcome to join. No matter if you are new to gaming or are a seasoned pro, let's start gaming!

VHSL Frequently Asked Questions
Visit their site for more information
Here are some common queries about our esports program under VHSL:
Eligibility: Students maintain VHSL activity eligibility.
Schedule: Practices and competitions occur after school, supervised by our team.
Online Competitions: No travel is required; all matches take place online.
Team Entries: Schools may enter multiple teams for each game title competition.
Seasons: We offer Fall (September – December) and Spring (February – April) seasons.
Esports Finals
The finals of the emerging esports activity are an in-person event hosted on the campus of Old Dominion University. While teams mainly compete virtually at their campus during regular competition, the culminating event is in-person, with teams competing onsite at Old Dominion University. As teams advance in the tournament, schools should plan accordingly.
Should you have questions about the VHSL emerging activity, eSports, or the finals event, please contact Shawn Knight (sknight@vhsl.org) in the League office.
Practice Schedule & Game Days
Gear up for action-packed practice sessions and thrilling game days:
Practice will be Tuesday - Thursday from 3:05 - 5:00
Below are the days the games are played on. We will not participate in all these games. Most games will be based on the interest we get from you. However, we will try our best to focus on VHSL games which are currently League of Legends, Rocket League, and Super Smash Brothers. We will also play some of the other games but they will not fall under the VHSL competition. All game day games very well could go over the 5:00 end time. It all depends on how fast the games are played.
Tuesday: League of Legends
Wednesday: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Thursday: Rocket League, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
During your chat with the coaches, let them know your game preferences. While we encourage commitment to certain games, be open to stepping in for other games to complete a team lineup.
Gameplay Essentials
For Rocket League matches, remember to bring your controller unless you prefer keyboard/mouse play.
