East Rockingham High School is pleased to announce the appointment of Dontae’ Gholson as Interim Head Football Coach for the 2026 season. Coach Gholson previously served as Running Backs Coach and Junior Varsity Coach at ERHS. He began his teaching and coaching career at ERHS in 2024.

A graduate of Dinwiddie High School, Coach Gholson was a three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and baseball before continuing his basketball career at Bluefield University. As both a teacher and a coach, Coach Gholson has earned the respect of students, staff, and athletes. His positive attitude, strong leadership, high character, and commitment to our school community make him an excellent choice to lead our football program.
